2013Habitation and Process
My architectural photography work has been recognized with an honorable mention in the Deeper Perspective category in the Lucie Foundation’s 2013 International Photography Awards.
I’ve always been captivated by the whole process of ‘making architecture’. The construction process opens up the buildings. The physical boundaries are not all there….the opportunity to discover space and craft it with differing light is huge.
Habitation and Process
Photographic representation of architecture generally occurs after its completion, when interaction with its users becomes the norm. Yet the construction process of a building represents and develops a history of interaction between the people that participated during this period and the spaces that existed during this time. Part of an ongoing project, this series of photographs is a study of two buildings currently under construction, the people working on them, and the structural outline of the spaces yet to be completed.
