The primary goal of this position is to work alongside Andrew, lighten his load so he can focus on crafting revealing images and fantastic outcomes for his clients, or in his artistic endeavours – think of you as his extra eye, arm…extra lens.
You’re excited about working in a creative business that straddles commercial and artistic practices. You enjoy proactively working with a problem-solving mindset to see opportunities that weren’t initially evident.
Latreille Photography is an established photographic business. We have a series of exciting goals for the future. You’ll be in a unique position sitting alongside Andrew to explore these and help shape them for the studio’s next chapter, both locally and abroad.

- You may have experience in the photography industry or other allied creative industries, working in a freelance team environment.
- You are comfortable working in a PC based environment.
- You’re fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience with the Adobe Suite is an added benefit.
- Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are strong. You can engage with internal team members, clients and consultants and collaborators in a way that positively reflects on the studio, our values of empathy, excellence, understanding and teamwork.

Where you’ll grow
The studio is an open platform, and we want you to embrace this. Take this as an opportunity for you to bring forward new ideas and develop new skills that will help the studio and you grow over your long-term career.
Over the initial term, we’d expect you to gradually understand the history of the studio and the existing processes. As you do this, you’d be maintaining a high overview and identifying opportunities to streamline and instigate new ways of doing things.
In the end, running a small photography practice requires a lot of different skills (part of why we love it), and no two days are the same. You’ll be constantly learning and working out how your strengths can best be used.
Working with us
Work is open to either remote, in-studio, or a combination.
This position is a casual position with an initial scope of 8-15 hours per week, which would ideally be split over two days. As your role progresses, this may increase.
There will be an initial 2-3 month engagement with a review after this timeframe.
At this point, we’ll review the scope of engagement and adjust both our expectations for the future
The agreed rate for this role will be based on your experience within a range of $25.00 – $31.00 / hour.
